Karma and Rebirth Meditation

Theme Retreat

by donation, with Brian Ruhe

following the Theravada Forest tradition

Sunday July 29th, 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Bring a pot-luck lunch to share and join us for a balance of, silent sitting, walking and loving-kindness meditation, with talks and discussions on a core concept in Buddhism: karma and the round of rebirths. Karma is defined as intentional actions and we’ll look at the results of karma. Rebirth is the Buddha’s teaching that when you die you immediately take rebirth in some other form. This is going to be interesting!

I have about a dozen You Tube videos on this subject. Here is a link to one:

Why People Believe in Karma & Rebirth, or Not

Our retreat will be held in a spacious, quiet meditation area in the bright common room at the top of a Co-op with an outdoor deck and a serene view over False Creek. You are free to use your own techniques. Expect mostly meditation with sitting for 30 – 40 minutes and walking meditation for 15 minutes. Beginners are welcome.

Chairs will be provided at the venue. If you prefer to sit on the floor, please kindly bring your own sitting gear (meditation mat and cushion/bench).
