They focus on a period in the mid 1980s when many Ph.Ds within the UFO secrecy apparatus of the US government were trying to better understand UFOs and how they worked. At that time they were taking experiencers more seriously and realized they needed to learn from their close encounters, such as physical and psychological effects, down to the atomic level. They also had access to secret government videos of UFOs to try to understand their propulsion and how they operated.
It is surprising that they recommended certain meditation methods and yoga practices to better make contact with the E.T.s. Another surprise is their use of remote viewing. Remote viewing become a very important method for them to look into the craft at the controls and occupants to get more vital information. This reminds me of the story, true or not, of Maria Orsic who remote viewed or channeled flying saucer design for the Germans back in the 1930s and 40s. This acknowledges that this phenomena is about consciousness and our spiritual, inner world. Richard said, “I don’t know how many times people told me that they learned how to meditate and then five months later they had an E.T. encounter.” I agree and I think that Richard distinguishes between this genuine capacity that people have, versus new age thinking.
Richard often criticizes how the poison of new age thinking has left a trail of intellectual destruction in the UFO community because people have been weened away from critical thinking. His talk about that is the one talk of his I have replayed more than any other. It is:

Dolan wrote, “Susceptibility to certain beliefs and ideologies can make people prey to manipulative and narcissistic personalities. In the field of UFOs, it happens all the time. But there is a way to fight back”. He warns that too many people believe story tellers, with no evidence. He says, “follow the evidence” and “humble yourself before reality and let reality be your teacher because reality doesn’t care about your opinions.” I took the Dale Carnegie Course in 1986 and I use a memory technique they teach to memorize parts of Richard’s talk.
The depth of his guest’s research, with his partner, was deeply appreciated by Richard and I am in awe myself, with their discussion, “The Secret Effort to Investigate Aliens”. I watch Richard Dolan videos more than any other channel and I highly recommend him as a UFO historian as he gives such credibility to the subject which is still marginalized, although less than it used to be.
